Scholarships

CAHC is pleased to offer a Scholarship program to its members. Currently, there are two Scholarships levels funded and awarded annually by CAHC: the Dustin Latimer Scholarship, and the Playmaker Scholarship.

The Men’s league also offers the Bill Ryan Memorial Scholarship that is awarded by the CAHC Finance committee.

All scholarship applications need to be returned to the CAHC Treasurer by mail (P.O. Box 2562, Casper, WY 82602), by email, or put into the CAHC box in the lobby at the Casper Ice Arena.

Dustin Latimer scholarship

The Dustin Latimer Scholarship, funded by CAHC, is intended to provide a reduced fee for registration to families who would otherwise not be able to participate in our hockey program due to financial constraints. The amount and number of scholarships awarded is determined by the amount of money budgeted for scholarships for the current year, the number of requests received, and the total dollar amount of the requests received. Amounts awarded may change from year to year and are at the full discretion of the CAHC board and Finance committee. All scholarship awards will be applied as a credit to the player’s account and not in cash. Scholarships are granted on a per season basis. The CAHC Treasurer will contact applicants regarding the status of their scholarship request. All decisions of the Finance Committee are final; there is no appeal process.

To be eligible for the Dustin Latimer Scholarship, the player requesting scholarship assistance must be in good standing with CAHC. Volunteerism is an important component of the scholarship program. Recipients of scholarships will be expected to participate with CAHC Fundraisers including, raffle ticket sales, wreath sales, etc. Past participation in fundraising will be a key component in consideration of the scholarship requests.

To apply for the Dustin Latimer Scholarship, please complete the Dustin Latimer Scholarship Application Form {PDF} and submit it to the CAHC Treasurer prior to the deadline of January 15 of the current season.
